Jarelsberg, Onion and Apple canapes
1 tbs butter
1 medium onion, cut into fourths and sliced
4 oz thinly sliced Jarelsberg or Swiss Cheese
16 slices of pumpernickel Cocktail Bread
1 Tbs Dijon-Mayonnaise Blend or Dijon Mustard
1-2 Tbs chopped chives
1 Medium apple, unpeeled and thinly sliced
Preheat oven to 400.
Cook the onion in the butter for 4-6 minutes.
Cut the cheese to fit the bread.
Spread each slice of bread with the Dijon-Mayonnaise blend.
Top each with some onion, apple and cheese.
Sprinkle with some chopped chives.
Place on a jelly roll pan and bake for about 5 minutes.
