JEANNIE'S FAVORITE BANANA NUT CAKE
Jeannie's Favorite Banana Nut Cake
My sister LOVES this cake!!

INGREDIENTS
- 1 ½ C sugar
- ½ C shortening
- 2 eggs
- 2 C flour
- 4 Tbls buttermilk
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 3 large ripe bananas
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 C nuts
- Frosting:
- ½ C butter
- 1 small ripe banana
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 4 C powdered sugar
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350F
Cream together shortening & sugar.
Beat in eggs, one at a time.
Dissolve baking soda in buttermilk and add alternately with flour.
Add bananas, vanilla & nuts
Bake at 35F in 13x9x2 pan for for 25 – 30 minutes or until pick comes out dry.
When completely cool, frost with frosting.
For frosting, beat butter, banana, vanilla & powdered sugar until fluffy.
