JOHN'S RICE PILAF

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 1 cup raw rice
  • 1 env.chicken noodle soup
  • 2 1/2 cups water
  • 1 t salt
  • 1/4 t pepper
  • 1/4 t sage
  • 1/4 t thyme

Directions

  • In skillet, heat butter and saute onion, celery and rice until rice is golden brown.
  • Stir in remaining ingredients.
  • Cover and simmer 15 minutes or until liquid is absorbed.
  • Remove from heat and let stand 10 minutes.
  • 8 servings
  • 3o mins. prep.
  • 25 mins. cooking
