  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 5 eggs, well beaten
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 can water
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp grated lemon peel


  • Place sugar in skillet and caramilize by cooking over medium heat
  • Stir constantly with wooden spool till sugar melts and turns golden or medium brown
  • Pour and spread quickly on bottom & sides of baking pan
  • Combine remaining ingredients in bowl and mix well
  • Pour over caramelized dish
  • Place dish into another swallow pan filled with 1" water
  • Bake at 325 for 1 hour or till knife inserted 1/2" from middle comes out clean
  • Loosen edges with spatula
  • Cool


Got this from a co-worker and it was one of the easiest and best tasting flans I had
