"There is something so comforting about a Pecan Pie. The sweet down home flavor is a favorite!"

Why I Love This Recipe

Original recipe card by Marilyn Arlette Mays Gascon. She was daughter of Iva Melissa Mae Gadberry Mayes. Marilyn's recipe was handed down to Laura Gascon Ripp who generously shared their family recipe with us for our Phillips/Gadberry Reunion Cookbook. I am thrilled to have this recipe, I've always wanted to make a pecan pie!

Ingredients You'll Need

I uncooked pie shell
1 cup white corn syrup
1 cup dark brown sugar
1/3 tsp salt
1/3 cup butter, melted
3 eggs, slightly beaten
1 tsp vanilla
1 heaping cup whole pecans

Directions

Combine corn syrup, brown sugar, salt, melted butter, and vanilla. Mix well. Add beaten eggs and pour into unbaked pie shell.

Sprinkle pecans over all. Bake in preheated 350 degree F oven for approx. 45 minutes.

Pairs Well With

Coffee or Tea!
