Ingredients You'll Need

1 cup butter
1 ounce red food coloring
2 1/2 cups flour
1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tablespoon white vinegar
3 eggs
2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup buttermilk
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1 package 80 oz cream cheese, softened
1 box powdered sugar
1 cup chopped pecans
1 stick butter
1 teaspoon vanilla


For cake: Cream butter and sugar; add eggs one at a time. Beat until fluffy. Make a paste of cocoa and vinegar. Add to buter mixture. Sift salt, baking soda and flour together. Add alternately with buttermilk to butter mixture. Add vanilla and food coloring. Grease and flour 3-9" pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes. Let cool ten minutes in pan. Remove from pan and frost when cool. For frosting: Mix ingredients and spread between layers and over the cake. You can add more pecans on top if you want.
