LAYERED STRAWBERRY DESSERT
- 2 pkg.(3 oz. each) strawberry-flavored gelatin
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 pkg.(16 oz.) frozen sliced strawberries, thawed, drained
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- 2 cans (8 oz. each) crushed pineapple, drained
- 1 (16 oz.) sour cream
In a medium mixing bowl, dissolve gelatin in boiling water. Let cool until slightly thickened. Divide gelatin between 2 bowls. Set 1 in refrigerator. Add strawberries, walnuts and pineapple to other bowl, then pour into a 2-qt. mold or square baking dish. Stir well. Place in freezer 30 - 40 minutes or until set. Remove from freezer and smooth sour cream over gelatin. Pour remaining refrigerated bowl of gelatin over sour cream and place mold in refrigerator until gelatin is completely set.
