6 Tbsp butter
1 cup sugar
rind of 1 lemon, zested
1 1/2 cup
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup milk
1/3 cup nuts, chopped (optional)
juice of 1 lemon
1/3 cup powdered sugar
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Grease and flour an 8 X 4 inch loaf pan.
Beat together butter, sugar, eggs, and lemon zest.
Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
Add flour mixture and milk alternately to the creamed mixture, stirring after each addition.
Pour batter into prepared pan.
Bake for 1 hour or until bread tests done with toothpick.
Remove from oven. While bread is still hot, combine the toping ingredients and then pour over the loaf.
Let cool in pan until the lemon juice is soaked up.

A nice bread for brunch or snack. It is moist and very lemony.
