- Cooking Time:
- Servings: 1 crust
- Preparation Time: 15 minutes
- 1/3 c. + 1 T. shortening (lard)
- 1 c. flour
- 1/2 t. salt
- 2-3 T. cold water
- Mix the dry ingredients. Cut in the shortening. Mix in the water gradually, until the right consistency. Chill before rolling out.
NotesMom makes the best pies. I've tried to make the crust like hers, but to no success. When she no longer will make the pie for a family holiday meal, we will have to switch to cake for dessert. (Unless one of the grandchildren master her pie crust.)
