Ingredients

  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 3 T. softened butter
  • 1 c. sourmilk
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • pinch nutmeg
  • 4 1/2 c. flour

Directions

  • Add sugar to beaten eggs. Stir in butter, vanilla & milk. Add soda, baking powder, salt, nutmeg & 2 c. flour. Beat well. Add approximately 2 1/2 c. more flour to form stiff dough to be rolled out in rectangle 5" x 20". Cut into 24 strips & fry in grease heated to 370 turning once.
