Lumpia done Japanese style

I love Lumpia - ever since I had it at a friend's house in middle school, and it is so different from the traditional spring roll that I grew up with. This is my version of the best of both worlds

  • Preparation Time: 60
  • 1 package square large won ton skins
  • 1 lb hamburger
  • 2T roasted garlic
  • 1 yellow onion diced and caramelized
  • 1 c carrot finely shredded
  • 1/4 lb green beans thinly sliced on the bias
  • 1/2 package defrosted petite green peas
  • 2T soy sauce
  • 2T mirin
  • 1 c bean sprouts
  • canola oil for frying

DIRECTIONS

brown ground beef and drain


add garlic , onion, and rest of veggies


Stir fry until carrots are just cooked


Add soy sauce and mirin


Drain excess liquid from mixture


Place about 1 T mixture in middle of won ton wrapper, in long strip, wrap like a burrito, seal edge with a dab of water


Heat oil to 350 degrees and fry until golden brown
