Macaroni and Beef Pie
1 lb. ground beef
1 qt. milk
1 cup grated cheddar cheese
1 pkg. macaroni noodles
2 tbsp. flour
salt and pepper
1 onion, chopped
Cook macaroni until half done and set aside. In another pan pour all the milk except for 3/4 cup. Heat very slowly.
Brown onion and ground beef, season with salt, pepper and cinnamon.
Grease a large square pan. Put a layer of macaroni, a layer of beef and top with macaroni. Sprinkle with cheese and dabs of butter on each layer.
Combine 2 tbsp. flour and 3/4 cup milk and make a thin paste. Add to heated milk, stirring constantly to prevent lumps. Add to beaten eggs. Pour milk mixture over macaroni until covered.
Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour 20 minutes. Test as for custard.
