Maple Baked Apples
6 Large red baking apples
6 Teaspoons coarsely chopped walnuts
6 Teaspoons raisins
6 Tablespoons maple syrup
6 Tablespoons sweet butter
1 cup heavy cream
Preheat oven to 375ºF.
Cut cores from apples, but take care NOT to cut through the bottoms
Place apples in a shallow baking dish.
Put 1 teaspoon each walnuts and raisins into each apple.
Pour 1 tablespoon maple syrup into each apple, and top with 1 tablespoon butter.
Add dashes of cinnamon, allspice and nutmeg to each apple.
Pour 1/2 inch cold water into the bottom of the dish to keep apples moist.
Bake apples until soft, about 25 to 30 minutes.
Transfer to serving bowls and drizzle the apples with cream
