MARINATED MUSHROOMS

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs mushrooms
  • 3/4 cups oil
  • 1/3 cup wine vinegar
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp basil
  • 6 pepper corns or just use a 1/2 tsp ground pepper
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 clove garlic chopped

Directions

  • In sauce pan, simmer all ingredients except mushrooms, for 10 minutes. Add mushrooms, stir until coated, then cook in a covered pan for 3-5 minutes.
  • Store mushrooms in sauce in a covered dish in the refrigerator.

My neighbor gave me this recipe. She got it from my mother-in-law who passed away before I met my husband.
