INGREDIENTS

  • 1 large cantaloupe
  • 1 package (3 ounces) strawberry banana gelatin
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1 cup sliced fresh strawberries
  • 1 large cantaloupe
  • 1 package (3 ounces) strawberry banana gelatin
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1 cup sliced fresh strawberries

DIRECTIONS

Cut melon in half lengthwise from bud to stem end; discard seeds. Cut a thin slice off the bottom of each half so melon sits level; pat dry.

In a bowl, dissolve gelatin in boiling water. Stir in applesauce and strawberries. Pour into melon halves (discard any remaining gelatin mixture or save for another use). Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight. Just before serving, slice each melon half into three wedges. Marvelous Melons will serve 6 people.

RECIPE BACKSTORY

It's GREAT, very pretty, make ahead and we ALL love this (I cover each wedge w/plastic wrap when its set).

This will only take you 15 minutes or so to fix/then chill.

This is SO colorful, impressive and a home-run hit every time it's served. (Make ahead puts this as my all time go to favorite for guest and friends). ENJOY!

Have fun with this.....experiment w/other combinations of melons, gelatin and fruit.
