Ingredients

1-1/2 pounds of ground beef
1-1/2 tsp salt( did not use)
3/4 tsp celery salt( used a shake then added some dried celery flakes)
1 tsp oregano leaves( used dried)
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/8 tsp garlic powder( used more)
2-3 Tbs shortening( used olive oil)
3 Tbs flour
4 cups of sliced green peppers ( next time I will add more)
1-1/2 cups, sliced onion
2 cups of beef broth
1 Tbs flour
2 Tbs water( did not use)

Combine ground meat and spices, form into 1-1/2" balls. Roll into 3 Tbs of the flour then brown in the shortening, adding as needed. Stir in the green peppers and onions and brown lightly. Add the boullion, cover and cook for 15 minutes. Mix remaining flour with the water add to the pan and cook till thick. Serve with potatoes or rice.

I mixed the flour with some of the broth to make a paste, then added to the pan to thicken. I also removed the meat balls from the pan while browning the peppers and onions, returned to the pan once this step was finished, then completed the recipe as written.

Add in suggestions, Red pepper, carrots, broccoli, cabbage, and mushrooms

Notes

Janie I am glad you tried and enjoyed it

This is a wonderful recipe. I made it last week~ The beefy broth just does wonders not only to the ground Turkey but to the dish as well~

Its a great little alternative to the traditional tomato based sauce~ Janie/appy_girl
