Why I Love This Recipe

Everyone has their own version of Meatloaf.. here is mine. The kids love it.

NOTE:

The applesauce is approximate. I normally just pour it right from the jar into the dish. If you get a little silly with the applesauce you can add more ritz crackers and another egg to compensate.

This recipe is great right out of the oven.... But it tastes even better the next day.

Hope you enjoy!!!!

Ingredients You'll Need

2lbs. lean ground beef (the leaner the better)
1 1/2 pkgs ritz crackers (crumbled)
2 eggs
2 cups homestyle chunky applesauce
1/2 pgk french onion soup mix

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Combine all ingredients into a large bowl until mixed well.

Place the mixture in a 9X13 baking dish spreading evenly to fill the whole dish.

Using your fingertips make a trough around the outside edge of the dish between the dish and meat mixture.

In a separate bowl squeeze Ketchup and add DARK brown sugar.

This is totally to taste.

If you like it sweeter add more brown sugar.

Spread Ketchup mixture on top of meatloaf until the top is covered.

Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
