This is a very good and filling meatloaf recipe that I found on Allrecipes; it was submitted by Suzanne Codner. It's also made in the slow cooker and has a very tangy sauce that goes with it! Also excellent served with green beans and mashed potatoes.

  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 2/3 cup seasoned bread crumbs
  • 2 tsp. dried minced onion
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. rubbed sage
  • 1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
  • For the sauce:
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. ground mustard
  • 1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce

  • In a large bowl, combine the first six ingredients; crumble beef over mixture and mix well (mixture will be moist).
  • Shape into a large loaf; place in a 5-quart slowcooker; cover and cook on LOW for 5 to 6 hours (I cooked it for 6) or until a meat thermometer reads 160 F.
  • For the sauce:
  • In a small bowl, whisk ketchup, brown sugar, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce; spoon over meatloaf.
  • Cook 15 minutes longer or until heated through; let stand for 10 to 15 minutes before cutting.
