Why I Love This Recipe

This recipe came from Mom I really dont know the location of where it came from . My mom would make this recipe for a special occasion when we were growing up. So when I think of Brownies this is one I like make and eat. I just bring back childhood memories.


Ingredients You'll Need

3/4 c. sifted all purpose flour
1/4 t. baking soda
1/4 t. salt
1/2 c. sugar
1/3 c veg shortening
2T water
1 pkg (6oz) semi sweet choc pieces
1 t vanilla
2 eggs
1 1/2 chopped nuts
1 can or vanilla frosting (since mom first made this recipe we have recently change the icing to cream cheese.

Chocolate glaze:
1- pkg of chocolate pieces
1T. veg shortening and put in a double broiler until melted.


Directions

Sift flour,soda,salt onto wax paper.


Combine sugar,shortening & water in a medium saucepan, Heat, stir constantly til sugar melts & mixture comes to a boil, Remove from heat, stir in choc pieces and vanilla til smooth.


Beat eggs one at a time. stir in flour mixture & nuts. Spread evenly in 9x9x2 greased pan.


Bake at 325 degrees for 30 mins (til firm on top)remove from oven * and cool completely.


Spread White or Cream Cheese frosting over the top and chill until firm.


Spread Chocolate Icing over the white icing and chill until firm.
