Montana Fudge Brownies
Why I Love This Recipe
Received the basic recipe from a friend at work (who is originally from Chicago) whose family raved about the recipe. Normally, I'm one of those oddballs who doesn't really care for chocolate except on the rare occasion -- and then only a taste. However, I REALLY like these brownies - even with the chocoate frosting. These brownies have a fudge-like consistency rather than cake-like.
Ingredients You'll Need
1/2 cup butter - softened
2 cups chocolate syrup
1 cup sugar
1 Tbs. vanilla
1 cup flour
Optional: You can either leave plain or add 3/4 chopped nuts (walnuts, pecans, macadamia, etc.).

1-1/2 cups sugar
1/3 cup half-and-half (or evaporated milk)
Preheat oven to 350. Use jelly roll (10" x 15" x 1") pan. Lightly spray with non-stick spray.
In a medium size bowl, mix until well blended the butter, syrup and sugar.
Add to the mixture the eggs, vanilla and flour. Mix until smooth.. At this point you can add the nuts if you wish.
Pour into pan and bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes.
The brownies should look pretty well set in the middle but a toothpick inserted in the center should not come out totally clean.
Remove pan to cool.
In a 6 to 8 cup saucepan, combine Frosting ingredients.
Stirring constantly, bring to boil.
Boil for one (1) minute.
Remove from heat and add 1/2 cup chocolate chips (milk or dark - your preference) and stir until smooth.
Pour over warm brownies.
Let all cool and cut into squares.
