- 1 cup rice
- 2 cups skim milk
- sugar and cinnamon to taste
- Cook rice in milk according to directions. Add to sugar and cinnamon to taste. Don't drink as much next time.
NotesMy aunt once made this for my cousins, my brother and I for breakfast after a sleepover. We were picky children, and yet we asked for seconds so she had to whip up a second batch.
Years later I whipped some up while suffering a hangover and it seemed to do the trick nicely. A friend stopped by once, also hungover, and agreed it seemed to help. Maybe it was a placebo effect, or maybe some combination of the starches and sugars.
There is no real recipe to this. It's almost like a lowfat, watery rice pudding. My aunt was a hippy and I'm sure had stumbled on to it when she was high or broke or both
