Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1/2 lb Italian pork sausage
  • 1/2 bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 oz. cream cheese
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 cup chunky pasta sauce
  • To garnish:
  • black olives
  • shoestring fries
  • peas
  • tatertots

Directions

  • Heat oven to 350F.
  • In a large bowl, mix beef, sausage, bread crumbs, onion, milk, salt, cream cheese and egg.
  • Divide into six equal parts.
  • Shape into oval loaves, pinching the narrow part of the oval into a point (for the mouse nose).
  • For gross-out effect, try molding each loaf around a cherry tomato!
  • Place in an ungreased glass baking dish.
  • Pour pasta sauce on and around loaves.
  • Bake for 40 minutes
  • Garnish with olives for nose, peas for eyes, shoe-string fries for whiskers and tail, and tatertots for ears.

Okay, really it’s just meatloaf… but it’s the cutest meatloaf you’re ever likely to see! The grandkids enjoyed these little mouse morsels on Halloween last year. If you have a not-too-squeamish bunch, try putting a cherry tomato in the center of each mousy
