MRS. KAWASAKI'S SHOYU CHICKEN

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs chicken wings
  • 1/2 c flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1T milk
  • 1 package panko crumbs
  • sauce
  • 1/2 c soy sauce
  • 2/3 c sugar
  • 1/4 c sake
  • ½ c water

Directions

  • dredge chicken in flour
  • beat eggs with milk
  • toss wings in egg mixture
  • coat wings with panko
  • place on baking sheet and bake at 350 for 40 minutes
  • combine sauce ingredients and bring to boil, then simmer for about 10 minutes
  • toss wings with sauce and serve immediately

Notes

Mrs. Kawasaki made this version of asian chicken wings, that is different from the usual ones because of the panko on them - not usually found on chicken wings.
