Mushroom French Bread

1 loaf french bread
1 large package shredded swiss cheese
1 small can sliced mushrooms
1 teaspoon Lawry's season salt
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 envelope dry onion soup mix
2 sticks butter or margarine

Place french bread on a long sheet of foil so that the ends of the foil will meet at the center of the bread.

Cut an "X" pattern from end to end but only half way through the bread.

Spread the cuts apart and stuff with the swiss cheese (the more the merrier).

In a saucepan - melt butter, add mushrooms, season salt, mustard, lemon juice, garlic powder and soup mix.

Heat on low and stir well until combined.

Spoon butter mixture over the cheese, seal in foil, place on cookie sheet and bake at 325 degrees for 40 to 50 minutes.

Cut into strips and enjoy : )

I recently enjoyed this appetizer at a friend's house. Was not sure I would like it because I do not like swiss cheese or cooked mushrooms but believe me - it is awesome.
