NC BBQ SAUCE

Ingredients

  • Combine, bring to boil, simmer uncovered about an hour.
  • 2 C cider vinegar
  • 1 C water
  • 1 minced onion
  • 1 T red pepper flake
  • 1 T peppercorn
  • 1 tsp. celery seed
  • 1 tsp salt

Directions

  • Mix in enough of the sauce to moisten the pork...
  • Serve on buns, top with a bit more sauce...
  • In NC, the side of choice is Cole slaw....many times served on the sandwich.

Notes

Recipe from Southern foods....

First, grill (or dry roast) your pork (shoulder/butt, etc)....when done, pull it apart with 2 forks - hence the name "pulled pork BBQ"
