BackstoryThe summer I was fifteen, my dad made free stew for our whole town.
- 10-20 lbs beef roast, wild venison, and kielbasa
- 1 cup of flour
- about a bushel of assorted vegetables from your garden or local farmer's market; potatoes, carrots, onions, green beans, corn, cabbage, tomatoes, peas, lima beans, etc
- 10 gallons of water
- Dredge meat in flour and brown in very large pot over an open flame. Add oil and salt as needed to prevent sticking.
- Add vegetables and water. Stir over medium flame until flavors blend and you can no longer resist the aroma. Serve with crusty bread and cold beer.
