Nozomi's absolute favourite low fat Sweet n Sour Spare ribs

Serves 6 | Prep Time | Cook Time

Ingredients

Spareribs 1.2kg (Ideally cut in half)
Sake 2tbs
Black pepper corn 20pcs
Water 2l
Katakuriko (Potato starch) or Cornstarch 2tbs
Garlic 2cloves (Roughly crashed)

For Sauce:
Chinese black vinegar 6tbs
Brown sugar 4tbs
Sake 2tbs
Salt 1tsp


Place spare ribs in a pot with water covered and bring it to boil


Discard water and wash meat under running cold water


In a clean pot, cook meat with measured 2l water, Sake and black pepper corns for 40min


Dry meat with paper towel and dredge Potato starch


Mix all the ingredients for sauce together and warm it in a wok pan


When the sauce starts to boil, add meat and mix


Add crushed garlic in a wok and lightly mix to add flavor


Itadaki masu! (eet smakelijk! In Japanese)
