NUT AND FRUIT BARS

 

  • Cooking Time: 30 minutes
  • Servings: 3 Dozen
  • Preparation Time: 15 minutes

Ingredients

  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup sifted flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 (8 0z.) pkg. pitted dates
  • 1 ( 6 oz.) jar maraschino cheries, drained
  • Confectioners sugar

Directions

  • Combine the eggs and vanilla
  • Beat well
  • Add the sugar and the flour sifted with the salt and baking powder
  • Blend well
  • Stir in the nuts and the fruits
  • Bake in a greased 15 x 10 inch jelly roll pan in a moderate oven (350) for 30 minutes
  • Cool in the pan on a wire rack
  • Cut in 2 inch squares
  • Sprinkle with the sugar
