Old -Fashioned Greens
1 bunch mustard greens
1 bunch turnip greens
1/4 lb. salt pork
Remove all stems from mustard greens and turnips. Place salt pork in 3 cups water in saucepan. Cover; bring to a boil. Add greens; bring to a boil again. Cook over low heat until greens are tender, adding water if necessary. Good with cornbread.
Yield: 6 servings.
Can add sliced turnips in with the greens to cook. I do not.
Pairs Well With
I grew up on greens and dearly love them to this day! And I love to put a little vinegar on top of them in my plate, and a boiled egg is good too.
