OREO COOKIE CAKE

INGREDIENTS
- 1 pound oreo cookies (regular, not double stuff)
- 1 cup butter, melted
- 8oz. cream cheese, softened
- 2 cartons (8oz. each) cool whip
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 large package instant chocolate pudding mix (plus milk to prepare)
- maraschino cherries (for garnish)
DIRECTIONS
Cruch oreo cookies. Measure out 1/2 cup and set that aside for garnish. Mix remaining crumbs with melted butter and press into 9x13" pan. Refrigerate 1 hour. Mix together cream cheese, 1 carton cool whip, and powdered sugar and spread over cookie crust. Refrigerate 1 hour. Prepare pudding as directed on package. Spread over cream cheese mixture. Refrigerate 1 hour. Top with remaining cool whip and sprinkle on reserved cookie crumbs. Garnish with maraschino cherries.
