1/2 cup margarine, melted
1 lb. 4 oz. pkg Oreos, crushed
1/2 gallon vanilla ice cream, softened
1 large can Carnation milk
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter
2 squares unsweetened chocolate
1 (12 oz) Cool Whip, thawed
1/2 cup nuts, optional
Mix together margarine and Oreos, put into a 9x13 pan. Chill thoroughly. Next, spread the softened ice cream over the crust. Return to freezer.
In a saucepan, combine the milk, sugar, butter and chocolate. Bring to a boil and cook for 15 minutes longer. Cool sauce completely.
Pour the sauce over the ice cream layer. Then spread Cool Whip over the sauce layer. Sprinkle nuts on top.
Put covered pan in freezer overnight. Remove from the freezer at least 10 minutes before serving.
