OVER NIGHT THICK FRENCH TOAST

 

  • Cooking Time: 45 minutes
  • Servings: 8-12
  • Preparation Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 8 Large Eggs
  • 1 Loaf of Hearty French Bread
  • 3 Cups Milk
  • 4 Tsp Sugar
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp vanilla
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • Cinnamon

Directions

  • Slice bread 1" thick
  • Mix eggs, milk, sugar, salt and vanilla in large bowl. Butter 13" x9" pan
  • Arrange Bread in pan
  • Fill in all the open spots, so cut smaller pieces if you need to
  • Pour egg mixture over bread
  • Cover and refriderate over night
  • Preheat oven at 350 in the morning
  • Cut 2 tbsp butter in small pieces and scatter on top of bread
  • lightly sprinkle with cinnamon
  • Bake 45 minutes

Notes

I don't remember where I found this base recipe, but I like to do it with 2 sliced stuffed with creamcheese ...not that it makes it better for you, but its YUMMY!
