  • 1 lb. oyster crackers
  • 1 c. canola oil
  • 1 tsp. dried dill
  • 1 tsp. onion powder
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 (1 oz.) package Hidden Valley ranch dressing mix


  • Mix the dry ingredients with the oil, then pour over crackers, stirring to coat.
  • Leave on the counter and stir every 15 minutes for one hour, then store in airtight container. I have never refrigerated it and the oil has never gone rancid.


I placed this in the Christmas category. Actually, it's good all year 'round, but I usually only end up making it at Christmas. I like it because, unlike many other snack mixes, it doesn't require baking. I've been making this for years.
