PANFRIED RED SNAPPER WITH SWEET AND SOUR SAUCE

Panfried Red Snapper with Sweet and Sour Sauce

We love Red Snapper. It is a very mild white fish.

  • Sauce
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup rice wine vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 3/4 cup pineapple juice or water or chicken broth
  • 2 teaspoons oil
  • Fish
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 pounds snapper fillets cut into equal parts
  • 2 tablespoons wok oil

DIRECTIONS

For sauce


Mix juice and flour until no lumbs


Heat oil in small sauce pan


Add remaining ingredients and flour mixture


Let simmer, stirring until sauce thickens


Fish


Place flour on a plate


Place egg and water in a bowl


lightly beat the egg and water mix


Place the fish in the egg,


coat with flour


Place a frying pan over meduim heat


Add oil spread around


Place fish in the pan and cook


turning once when golden brown(5 minutes per side)


Pour the warm sauce over the fish and serve
