Pecan Pie Bars

Serves | Prep Time | Cook Time 34 to 35 minutes or unt

Ingredients

2 cups flour
1/2 cup sugar
3/4 cup butter or margarine
1/8 tsp salt
1/2 cup butter or margarine
2 1/2 cup pecans, chopped
1 cup brown sugar - (packed)
1 cup white corn syrup
1 tsp vanilla
4 eggs, beaten


1 Crust- Combine flour, sugar and salt in bowl; cut in butter thoroughly with a pastry blender until mixture resembles very fine crumbs. Press mixture evenly and firmly into a greased 13 x 9 pan. Bake at 350º degrees until lightly browned.


2 Filling: Combine brown sugar, corn syrup, and ½ cup butter in a saucepan; bring to boil over medium hear, stirring gently. Remove from heat. Stir one fourth of the hot mixture into beaten eggs; add remaining hot mixture. Stir in pecans and vanilla. Pour filling over baked crust. Bake at 350º degrees . Cool completely in pan on a wire rack. Cut into bars.
