1 cup pure maple syrup
1 t. vanilla
1 cup dark brown sugar
2 T. flour
1/4 stick melted butter
3/4+ cup pecans, roughly chopped
9" pie shell (frozen)
pecan halves for decorating top of pie
beat eggs, syrup, sugar, flour, butter, and vanilla - blend well
mix in the chopped pecans
pour mixture into pie shell
decorate top of pie with pecan halves
bake 45 minutes at 350
*Note - I enjoy an extra nutty pecan pie so I usually add almost a full cup of chopped pecans to the mixture. The additional pecans usually cause the filling to overflow slightly when baking, giving the crust a little sweet crispiness. For easy clean up bake pie on cookie sheet.
