My mom's recipe, which she will proudly tell you calls for pure maple syrup!

  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1 t. vanilla
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 2 T. flour
  • 1/4 stick melted butter
  • 3/4+ cup pecans, roughly chopped
  • 9" pie shell (frozen)
  • pecan halves for decorating top of pie

  • beat eggs, syrup, sugar, flour, butter, and vanilla - blend well
  • mix in the chopped pecans
  • pour mixture into pie shell
  • decorate top of pie with pecan halves
  • bake 45 minutes at 350
  • let set
  • *Note - I enjoy an extra nutty pecan pie so I usually add almost a full cup of chopped pecans to the mixture. The additional pecans usually cause the filling to overflow slightly when baking, giving the crust a little sweet crispiness. For easy clean up bake pie on cookie sheet.
