Pecan Pie

1 stick real butter (no margarine)
3 large eggs
1 Cup white Karo syrup
1 Cup sugar
1 Cup pecans halves
1 tsp. vanilla
Pinch of salt

Brown butter over medium heat (this is the secret of this pie).

Beat eggs well and add other ingredients. Mix well. Add pecans and pour into pastry shell.

Bake 10 minutes at 425 degrees. Reduce heat to 325-350 degrees and bake 40 minutes more.

Makes 1 pie

This Southern classic favorite at the Thanksgiving table can always be made year-round as well.

One day I had 1/2 cup of Karo syrup and used 1/2 cup maple syrup. It added a new taste & it was good! I also have used dark Karo, it gives the pie a darker color.

This looks awesome. My dad loves Pecan Pie. I will have to try out your recipe and let you know how it turns out. :)
