Pennsylvania Red Cabbage

Serves 4 to 6 | Prep Time 15 minutes | Cook Time 25 minutes

Ingredients

2 Tbsp bacon grease (or use cooking oil)
4 cups shredded red cabbage
2 cups cubed apples
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup vinegar
1 1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp caraway seed


Heat grease (or oil) in large skillet.


Add all ingredients and cook, covered over low heat for 20 to 25 minutes until cabbage and apples are tender.


Pairs Well With


Notes

A little sweet, a little sour, a tasty side dish. Goes great with pork chops.
