1 (14-ounce) package Goya pinto beans
1 medium onion, chopped
3 large garlic cloves, minced
1 medium-sized chunk of salt pork, cut into pieces
1. Rinse beans and remove stones.
2. Put beans in a pot with 4 cups HOT water, bring to a boil, and boil for 3 minutes. Set aside, covered, for 1 hour.
3. Transfer beans to a slow cooker and add enough water to cover the beans by 2 to 3 inches. Add remaining ingredients and cook on high for about 3 to 4 hours or until tender
