Ingredients You'll Need

2 cups diced purple prune plums
1 cup butter or margarine
2 cups sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
4 eggs
3 cups enriched all-purpose flour
1 tsp. iodized salt
1 tsp. cream of tartar
½ tsp. baking soda
¾ cup plain yogurt
1 tsp. grated lemon peel
1 cup chopped walnuts


Prepare plums.

Cream butter or margarine with sugar and vanilla until fluffy.

Add eggs one at a time; beat after each.

Sift together flour, salt, cream of tartar, and baking soda.

Blend yogurt and lemon peel; add to creamed mixture alternately with dry ingredients.

Stir until well-blended.

Add chopped plums and nuts; mix well.

Divide between two greased and floured 9x5 inch loaf pans.

Bake in preheated 350° oven for about 50 to 55 minutes or until bread tests done.
