INGREDIENTS
- 2/3 Cup Water
- 2 Tablespoons Butter Or Margarine
- 2 Teaspoons Sugar
- 1 Teaspoon Salt
- 1 7/8 Cups Bread Flour
- 1 Teaspoon Yeast
DIRECTIONS
Put ingredients into bread machine according to manufacturer's directions.
I do a light setting.
This makes a small loaf. (1 lb.)

I have an identical recipe and it's just for white bread. What makes this Portuguese? It's delicious, by the way.

It is what it was called when I got the recipe. I think it is because of the way the crust is semi-crisp when baked.
