Potato Doughnuts
I got this from my husbands Grandmother...she made them at Christmas time. It origanally came out of the Co-Op Country News September 3, 1979.

INGREDIENTS
- 3 eggs
- 2/3 cup Sugar
- 1 cup cold mashed Potatoes
- 2 tablespoons melted Shortening
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla
- 3 cups Flour
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 cup milk
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
DIRECTIONS
Beat eggs, add sugar and stir in potatoes, shortening and vanilla. Add all the dry ingredients algternately with milk. Chill the dough and pat out. Cut and fry. Makes 3 1/2 to 4 dozen. Enjoy!
