POTATO DOUGHNUTS

Ingredients

  • 3 eggs
  • 2/3 cup Sugar
  • 1 cup cold mashed Potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons melted Shortening
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla
  • 3 cups Flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder

Directions

  • Beat eggs, add sugar and stir in potatoes, shortening and vanilla. Add all the dry ingredients algternately with milk. Chill the dough and pat out. Cut and fry. Makes 3 1/2 to 4 dozen. Enjoy!

I got this from my husbands Grandmother...she made them at Christmas time. It origanally came out of the Co-Op Country News September 3, 1979.
