- 4 large potatoes
- 1 onion
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 3 cups sifted flour (more or less for proper consistency)
- Grate potatoes and onion. Add egg and salt; add flour until it reaches the proper consistency (should not fall apart when frying -- if it does, add more flour). Shape into small pancakes and fry both sides in oil on hot griddle.
NotesI got this recipe from my mom who got it from her mom before she died. My grandmother never wrote recipes down (as far as I know), so this is one of the few ones we have from her.
