PRUNE CAKE

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup oil
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 cups nuts
  • 1 large jar of Jr. Baby Food Prunes or 1 cup prune
  • puree
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • FROSTING
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup butter

Directions

  • For cake, beat sugar, oil and eggs in bowl. Add dry ingredients with purnes and buttermilk and vanilla. Stir in nuts. Pour in greased 9x13" baking pan. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes.
  • For frosting, put everything in saucepan and bring to a boil. Boil for 5 minutes then pour over hot cake.
