Why I Love This Recipe

This is my Grandmother's Pumpkin Pie recipe. The pumpkin comes out dark and spicey. Just keep an eye on the crust as it browns. You could use foil on the crust to keep it from browning to much. I always get lots of compliments on the recipe. Makes 2 9 inch pies.


Ingredients You'll Need

2 cups brown sugar - packed
2 Tbsp. Flour
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp ground cloves
1/4 tsp. allspice
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
3 cups cooked pumpkin (The Libby's 29 oz. can of pumpkin makes both pies.)
2 eggs beaten
3 cups scalded milk. (I use evaporated milk)


Directions

Mix sugar, flour, salt, cloves, allspice, cinnamon and pumpkin together. Mix in beaten egg and add scalded milk. Cool.


Pour mixture into 2 unbaked pie shells. Bake in hot oven (450 degrees) for 30 to 40 mins. or until knife inserted in the center of the filling comes out clean.
