  • 3 large ripe bananas
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 4 tablespoons butter (melted and cooled)
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts or both
  • 1-1/2 cups of flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans or both
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar


  • Mix first 7 ingredients and set aside.
  • Mix next 3 ingredients. Add to above mixture and pour into a 9 by 5 loaf pan, lightly greased.
  • Mix last two ingredients to make topping and sprinkle over loaf.
  • Bake 325 degrees for 55 to 60 minutes. She said sometimes it takes longer. Press down on top of loaf; it's done when no longer "soft" -- her words!


My gf brought a loaf of this over and it's the very best I've ever had, so I hounded her for the recipe to share with you all! Heaven!
