- Cooking Time: 5 TO 7
- Servings: 30
- Preparation Time: 20
- 30 PITTED DATES
- 10 THINLY SLICED BACON STRIPS
- WEDGE OF PARMESAN CHEESE
- MAKE SPIKES OF CHEESE AND STUFF INTO THE PITTED DATE. CUT EACH BACON STRIP IN TO 3 PEICES AND WRAP ONE PIECE AROUND THE DATE AND SECURE WITH A TOOTHPICK. PUT WRAPPED DATES ON A COOKIE SHEET AND PLACE UNDER THE BROILER. BROILING TIME WILL VARY, 5 TO 7 MINUTES OR UNTIL THE BACON STARTS TO GET CRISPY AND THE CHEESE IS MELTING. TURN THE WRAPPED DATE OVER AT LEAST ONCE TO MAKE SURE THE BACON IS COOKED ON BOTH SIDES. REMOVE FROM COOKIE SHEET ON TO SERVING PLATTER. BEST IF SERVED WARM.
NotesMy husband and I belong to a gourmet group and we are always trying to out do the others. Our friend Charlie made these and everyone just loved them and could not believe we were eating dates. So, when we invited our friend and Chef, Jonathan over for dinner, I served these and he went crazy. He now has them as a choice on his party menu at his banquet facility. They are that good...........
