INGREDIENTS

  • Cooking Time: 30 minutes
  • Servings: 4-6
  • Preparation Time: 5 minutes
  • 1 (8oz) can Tomato Sauce (or use 1 cup of the 15 oz can)
  • 1/2 cup Root Beer
  • 1/4 cup Orange Juice
  • 1 tablespoon Brown Sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Molasses
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Cider Vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Liquid Smoke
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ground Ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt

DIRECTIONS

Combine all of the ingredients in a medium sized heavy saucepan; stir until combined. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Lower heat and simmer for 25-35 minutes, or until the sauce is reduced and starts to thicken.

Here, I've combined tomato sauce, root beer, and a few spices and come up with a fast homemade barbecue sauce that will make convenience foods taste like you've cooked all day!
