Quick weeknight pasta

Serves 4 | Prep Time 15 minutes | Cook Time 10 minutes

Ingredients

1 box Whole wheat spaghetti
Two tblsp butter
1 cup grated parmesan
1 bunch asparagus, trimmed & cut into thirds
salt & pepper to taste


Cook pasta in boiling salted water for 10 minutes;


While pasta is cooking, trim ends from asparagus, cut asparagus into three sections and saute in butter;


When pasta is al dente, place into large bowl with butter and 1/2 cup pasta water;


Toss pasta with grated parmesan;


Add asparagus and salt and pepper to taste;


Serve to a happy family with crusty bread!

This recipe is one my grandmother made when I was a child, and is a quick and delicious way to feed the important people in my life on those nights that time and energy is short!
