REFRIGERATOR OATMEAL COOKIES - vintage recipe

Who remembers OLEO! Instead of lard, I use butter, margarine, shortening, OR combination.

*oleo - another word for margarine (oleo margarine)

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 cups shortening (1/2 oleo* and 1/2 lard)
  • 1-1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1-1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoons soda
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 cups oatmeal

DIRECTIONS

Bake at 350 degrees until lightly browned.
